About HeathrowHop

HeathrowHop is a free tool that helps travellers find their Heathrow departure terminal and check real-time train connections. We do not sell products or collect payment information.

Information We Collect

We do not collect or store personal information directly. The only information processed by HeathrowHop is the airline code and flight number you enter — this is used solely to look up your terminal and is not linked to your identity.

Searches may be cached temporarily to reduce API usage. Cached results contain only flight data (terminal, departure time) and no personal identifiers.

Advertising — Google AdSense

This site displays advertisements served by Google AdSense. Google and its partners may use cookies and similar tracking technologies to show you ads based on your interests and previous visits to this and other websites.

Information Google may collect includes:

  • Pages you visit and time spent on them
  • Your approximate location (country/city level)
  • Device type, browser, and operating system
  • Interactions with advertisements

You can opt out of personalised advertising or manage your ad preferences at adssettings.google.com. Google's privacy policy is available at policies.google.com/privacy.

Third-Party APIs

HeathrowHop uses the following external APIs to provide its service. No personal data is sent to these services beyond what is necessary to fulfil your request.

  • AeroDataBox (via API.Market) — used to look up flight terminal and departure time from the flight number you enter.
  • Transport for London (TfL) — used to retrieve real-time train line status information. No user data is sent.

Cookies

This site uses the following types of cookies:

  • Essential cookies — required for the site to function (session management, CSRF protection). These cannot be disabled.
  • Preference cookies — we store your dark/light theme preference in localStorage. No server-side data is retained.
  • Advertising cookies — placed by Google AdSense to serve and measure advertisements. You can opt out via adssettings.google.com or by using a browser extension such as the Digital Advertising Alliance opt-out tool.

Your Rights (UK & EU)

If you are located in the United Kingdom or European Union, you have rights under the UK GDPR / EU GDPR, including the right to access, rectify, or erase personal data held about you, and to object to or restrict its processing.

Because HeathrowHop does not collect personal data directly, most of these rights apply to Google's data collection rather than ours. You can manage Google's use of your data at myaccount.google.com.

Children's Privacy

HeathrowHop is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any data from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect any changes. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
